Varoius Clinics will be held at Lonnie's Farm in 2007

She will offer basic riding clinics, advanced Versatility, and clinics for Serious Trail Riders where you'll ride at Big South Fork National Park.

Call the farm for reservations and information packets.  To secure your spot in the clinic you must send in your information sheet with a non-refundable deposit.  Space is limited!

Supplies Needed for Clinic
"Yourself" and and Open Mind and a smiling face!
"Your Steady Steed" (for those of you who are not in to the days of ole'...this would be your horse!)

Equipment:
Riding helmet
Saddle with 2 saddle pads (your choice: English, western, endurance)
Bridle
Halter and lead
Bell boots and splint boots
Lounge Line
Grooming items
Fly spray a must!
Towels or hand rags
Crop or spurs if needed
Chair for sitting that will be comfortable if resting

Bring your horse's feed if not buying from the farm.  No hay nets allowed!

Clothing:
Bring a warm sweat shirt, T-shirts, long pants and boots.  Anything you prefer to ride in that's not binding or chafing.
Gloves are optional.  Half chaps, full chaps, etc. are your choice.
Vest or coat that will not hinder your riding is a must.
Sunglasses for outside riding if you want.

Cameras and video recorders are allowed if you want to tape your riding sessions.

Be prepared to ride quite a lot so start getting yourself and your horse in shape now!

Horse Needs:
Negative Coggins test
Shots record
Should have teeth floated and dressed

There will be a farrier here on Tuesday during the clinic if you would like us to change your shoeing.
There will also be an equine dentist here during the clinic if you are unable to get your horse's teeth done before the clinic.

Clinic Location: 1499 Whitehall Road, Cookeville, TN 38501

From the east/Knoxville:
Take I-40 west towards Nashville, take exit 286 (Cookeville, Willow Ave, TN Tech)
Turn right at end of exit ramp, proceed north approximately 8.5 miles (you will go through town and pass Tenn. Tech University)
Turn right on to Whitehall Road and farm is 1/4 mile on left.  Gray barn with black fencing.

From the west/Nashville:
Take I-40 east towards Knoxville, take exit 286 (Cookeville, Willow Ave, TN Tech)
Turn left at end of exit ramp, proceed north approximately 8.5 miles (you will go through town and pass Tenn. Tech University)
Turn right on to Whitehall Road and farm is 1/4 mile on left.  Gray barn with black fencing.

From the south/Huntsville:
Take I-65 North to I-840 towards Knoxville.  Follow I-840 to I-40 (about one hour) and follow directions above from Nashville.

               How to plan for a safe trail ride, and handle an accident if one happens.

               Learn how to stabilize injuries commonly incurred with riding injuries.
       Fire Department Agent
               Learn how to plan for a safe exit from your barn, horse show arena, trailer, or any area where horses are kept in case there is a fire or other emergency.
       Local Agriculture Agents for 4-H, FFA, Local horseman's club
               What is available for our youth/youth riders
       Learning What Safe Trail Riding Equipment to carry on your rides
               What do I pack in my saddle bags, and were do I buy these items.
       Learn some safety exercises for escaping the two-legged predator..
       Learn how to plan for a safe and enjoyable trail ride whether alone or with a group.


Women's Clinic
(Limited to 8 Women)
Cost is $300.00
          


 
Versatility Clinic- 4 days long    (Limited to 10 horse/rider pairs)
We will be going over driving, trail obstacles, learning how to prepare and teach your horse the fundamentals for western riding, reining, jumping, dressage, halter, showmanship. and anything that you would like to teach your horse to do.

We have training carts, harness, trail obstacles and anything you will need to start your horse out in the versatility program.
           $475.00  clinic fee- includes training packet, lunch everyday, and special gift
$10.00 a day for stall & bedding  $15.00 for stall, bedding and feed for horse




3-day Training Clinic  For beginners to advanced gaited horse riders.
  (Limit to 12 horse/rider pairs)
Will cover bitting, gait recognition, saddle fitting, shoeing, cantering the gaited horse, problem solving gaiting issues, how to de-spook your horse. Learn how to have a safe, sensible, and smooth. horse.
           $350.00 clinic fee- includes training packet and a catered lunch everyday 
$10.00 a day for stall & bedding.  $15.00 a day with food for horse
